About JMD Teaching
I created JMD Teaching to provide high-quality, reliable and enjoyable music tuition for schools, families and private students across Bath and the surrounding areas.
At JMD Teaching, we offer lessons in drums, piano, guitar and vocals, with a focus on helping students build confidence, develop musical ability and enjoy learning in a supportive environment. Whether a student is picking up an instrument for the first time or looking to develop their skills further, the aim is always to make lessons clear, encouraging and tailored to the individual.
For schools, I want JMD Teaching to provide a simple and trustworthy way to expand music provision. We can support schools through one-to-one instrumental lessons, small group tuition, workshops and after-school clubs.
Trust, communication and reliability are at the heart of the business. All teachers working with JMD Teaching are expected to be experienced, DBS checked and appropriately qualified, so schools and families can feel confident that students are receiving professional and supportive music tuition.
Meet the Team
Jamie Dobson
Drum Teacher / Founder
I’m Jamie Dobson, the founder of JMD Teaching. I’m an experienced drummer, teacher and performer based in Bath.
I hold an ATCL Diploma in Drumming, Grade 5 Music Theory and an Enhanced DBS certificate. I also have a strong background in teaching and have received positive feedback for my clear, patient and encouraging approach.
As JMD Teaching grows, I will be working with carefully selected piano, guitar and vocal teachers who share the same standards and values. Every teacher working with JMD Teaching will be expected to be reliable, professional, DBS checked and qualified to at least Grade 8 standard or equivalent.
My goal is to build a team of teachers who not only have strong musical ability, but who can also create positive, enjoyable and confidence-building lessons for every student.

Jack Stemp
Guitar Teacher
I’m Jack Stemp, a guitar teacher within JMD teaching. I am an experienced guitar and bass player/performer and music university student based in Bath.
I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and play at a grade 8 standard. I have had experience teaching within primary and secondary schools and have had success on pushing students to reach for more.
I look forward to helping young people find their passion and love for music.

Quinn Mcevilly
Piano Teacher
Quinn has been playing the piano for 14 years, and is currently studying BA Music at Bath Spa University. She also plays the violin and sings.
She is interested in composing and performing, and has established herself as a singer songwriter. Her passion for music has always been growing, from the many choir performances to the after-school orchestra rehearsals.
All of Quinn’s music tutors have inspired her to teach music, passing on the art, and influencing new students to pursue their musical journey.
